2 new coffees next week!

Our first coffee, the Colombia Crucero from Ana Mustafá, was sold out in 3 weeks. I must say that we were hoping for quick sell, but this was beyond our expectations. Thank you all who supported us and gave us so much positive feedback on the Crucero! We look forward to see it again the next harvest!

We ran through a dozen of samples, looking for projects that resonate with us. And I must say we're pretty excited about the upcoming releases!

TANZANIA ITENDE AA/AB washed (filter)

Itende is a cup full of forest fruit and molases-like sweetness and a green coffee with a fascinating back story. "Jeshi la kujega taifa" is the Tanzanian army's youth program that runs coffee production on a 200 acres farm near Mbeya city. Young people who inscribe are taught skills that enhance their ability to gain employment and income in areas such as agriculture, masonry, carpentry and entrepreneurship. Roasted for filter and it's juicy and rich. Just perfect for the summer. More to read on our website soon.

PERU RIGOBERTO VAZQUES washed (filter roast/espresso roast)

Rigoberto Vazques comes from the third generation of coffee producers and has learned the craft from his father and grandfather. Finca Naranjillo is a 13ha family farm producing quality washed coffees. Rigoberto is one of the 350 members of JUMARP cooperative, founded in 2003. They follow organic farming practices with focus on reforestation of the Amazonas. The coffee was handpicked and hand-sorted to remove the underripes, followed by 40 hours of wet fermentation and 3 weeks of drying on raised beds. The cup is sweet, bright and clean. Think of chocolate, vanilla and oolong tea.

What else is new?

@50percentarabica is back online. After almost 3 months of the account being hacked and instagram support doing nothing about it, a 3rd party company solved it for me for only 400 bucks, lol. But it's great to be back there and spin that coffee meme wheel again!

FAINE Coffee is back! My partner in crime Kalliopé is opening FAINE coffee shop again! It was closed due to covid restrictions since early September (as FAINE is at the Faculty of Arts in Brno and University was close completely). We're opening on Monday and FAINE will become our Jokes Aside Coffee house shop. If you're in Brno, stop by and enjoy both the interior and the beautiful garden we have!

And for Jokes Aside, a big thank you belongs to our friends at @rn.grounds - in Prague. Kudos to our friend René aka @salty.barista who roasts for us and we're excited to learn from him about profiling, production roasting and operation.
